Community Connections is a supported living organisation in  the Wellington Region of New Zealand. Over the past 2 years we have had a number of visitors from Community Connections and since their first visit have been trying to develop their own Network. In addition to the services that they already provide they liked the idea of the Network model that Neighbourhood Networks operates and worked hard to develop their first Network.

This visit was the turn of Linda French who is on the Board of Trustees for Community Connections. Linda was using the opportunity whilst on holiday in the UK to drop in on us. Linda spent the day initially joining our monthly Network Managers meeting, followed by some lunch (with cake of course), then with our Director John, Member Involvement Worker Helen and Ian one of our Member Trustees.

Linda left mid afternoon with a little Scottish Shortbread and some Glenfiddich whisky naturally. Linda described her day with us as "very informative and inspiring" and was very keen that Neighbourhood Networks keep up the communication between Scotland and New Zealand. Our Glasgow Networks have already been on Skype with a group from Community Connections to learn more about New Zealand as they have this country as part of their 'Festival of Common Wealth' event.
