Greta Gauld: "A Lifesaver"

"I am getting older. Its takes all my strength and energy for me to look after Margaret these days! I can no longer care for my daughter in the way I would like too. And, you should know, that being a parent of someone with a disability is a full time job- you think about them all the time, night and day. I know that Margaret is being looked out for by Neighbourhood Networks. I know that I don’t need to worry whilst they are around- they do a good job. They are a lifesaver. Having Neighbourhood Networks means piece of mind and safety for Margaret.  As you know, Margaret has got her own place now! What an achievement. She lives independently because of people like these (Neighbourhood Networks). If Margaret and I didn’t have Neighbourhood Networks she wouldn’t manage her own place.  Neighbourhood Networks is also good socially. I know Margaret has got a group of friends she has met through the Network. They look out for each other. That’s piece of mind too.’
