Jordan Docherty

Health & Wellbeing

Jordan joined the Clydebank Network when he was still in high school. At the time he had issues with not being able to travel independently and he said he was spending his money on all the wrong things. Jordan received support to learn to travel independently from workers and from other network members. He also received support for anxiety and depression.

During lockdown, Jordan was encouraged to get outside more and managed to get a bike resulting in him doing a sponsored cycle for the Awestruck Academy where the networks regularly meet. Jordan raised over £100 for the charity. Jordan was also supported to get a tenancy for his own home and a job.

Life now is very different for Jordan. He has a young daughter who he sees 2-3 times a week and has his own house and part time job locally. He is comfortable travelling on his own and is much better with budgeting. He also goes to the gym twice a week and is currently learning to drive.

Jordan’s worker Audrey commented ‘ Jordan is now able to lift his head and speak to people. His confidence has grown massively. He has his own house, has a part time job and is happy to try new things. He has gone from strength to strength and is happy and confident to help when needed.’

When Jordan was asked what he would say to potential new members he said ‘ Its good to meet new people and to explore more things in life. If you plan it you will have a nice day!’
