Healthy Eating

East Renfrewshire

Members in East Renfrewshire Networks made homemade apple and rhubarb crumble from home grown apples and rhubarbs from the Community Living Workers Garden. They worked as a team to peel, chop and prep the apples and rhubarb before adding some sugar, spice and everything nice to stew in the oven. Members made their crumble from scratch and took it home to bake fresh in the oven.

Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains helps lower your risk of serious long-term illnesses like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke. It also supports your immune system, keeps your bones and teeth healthy, and gives you steady energy throughout the day. Making good food choices every day is a simple and powerful way to protect your long-term health and feel your best.
