Jamie McGinnes

Hi, my name is Jamie McGinnes and when I joined the Penicuik Network I could not travel alone as I found this very scary. Slowly with the help of my Community Living Worker, Sam and other members, I have managed to overcome my fears. I started by travelling with Sam and other members to activities and events. Then I met my girlfriend at the meetings and we began to travel by ourselves on local buses to go on our dates. I gained confidence through this and recently I was asked to meet with the Neighbourhood Networks Member Involvement Worker in a town near where I live. I managed to get a bus to the meeting on my own. I now feel confident enough to travel into Edinburgh with my girlfriend which was something I would not have been able to do if I had not got involved with Neighbourhood Networks.
