North Lan 1 staff team enjoyed a fabulous team building day on the 27th February doing a healthy walk then learning how to cook Indian food at Mr Singh’s in Glasgow. The purpose of our team building day was for team members to get to know each other a bit more as we don’t often get the chance to all meet up together as a team. Kirstin, our new Motherwell community living worker, also joined us so it was great us all getting to know each other more and shared ideas from our networks. Especially all the community connections we are linked into.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere and all staff enjoyed listening to everyone’s interests strengths and weaknesses. We also had a few laughs and we all felt the day was built on learning to work more together and building a happy trusting team.
We made chicken, haggis veg pakora and chicken tikka. The staff at the restaurant were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We shared lots of stories together and also lots of Indian family recipes were revealed. We also all received a top secret copy of their recipe book for us to share at our own dinner parties and at our cooking skills classes with members. We then enjoyed a delicious three course meal after sampling our own food we had cooked.
The team would like to thank Neighbourhood networks for our lovely memorable team building day.
