Community Living Worker - Stirling

“It has been great getting to know everyone and I can see there is a good community spirit within the team and members.”

Hi, my name is Ian MacFadyen and I started working as Community Living Worker for the Stirling area in November 2021. It has been great getting to know everyone and I can see there is a good community spirit within the team and members. I’m looking forward to getting more involved and helping to empower Neighbourhood Network Members to overcome any barriers they face, when they wish to participate in community life.

I have just finished studying Community Education and I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to join in with community life regardless of race, gender, disability or religion – ‘We’re aw Jock Tamson’s Bairns’ as the saying goes.

My two children are grown up now and I have two grandchildren who I try to see as much as possible. When I’m not working or visiting, I play a bit of guitar, venture out into the hills or maybe do a bit of research – can’t seem to get out of the habit.

I have recently worked within the Care-sector, working with Young People who were finding their way into Adulthood and setting up home for the first time, I found the work rewarding and seeing the young folk achieve what they thought to be unachievable.
