Jan Dearie

I have lived all my life in the small village of Shotts and like most wee places everyone knows everything that is happening. I thought right away that this would be a benefit when I applied for this post 3 years ago, and I was right. Along with my background in the care sector and my involvement in the local community events, including convener at the Highland Games and sports with local schools, I felt I had a lot of different areas I could connect with, and hopefully help my members can be connected too. I hope my knowledge of the area and activities should encourage the members to recognise their skills so that they can share them with others.
