A Walk in Winter
Musselburgh
Members met up to go for a walk starting in Prestonpans to Musselburgh Lagoons. During their walk they found “The Steel Feather” part of the “Remembering Together” project.
Remembering Together was a creative community co-creation project that worked with communities across Scotland to co-create memorials to honour the people we have lost, mark what has changed in our lives, and preserve the best of what we have learned and created together during the Covid pandemic.
The members had great walk and chat while getting their steps in. Walking, especially outdoors in natural light during the day, is a powerful tool against Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) because it boosts mood-regulation, provides crucial sunlight exposure to regulate sleep hormones, releases endorphins, reduces stress, and offers a chance to connect with nature and people, helping combat the winter blues by getting you moving when you least want to
