Visit to the Transport Museum
Wishaw
Members organised a visit to the The Riverside Museum of Travel and Transport and worked together to plan the arrangements for the day. They coordinated a suitable meeting point and checked the bus times to make sure everyone knew where to meet and how they would travel together safely.
Everyone enjoyed walking around, looking at the different displays and seeing the older modes of transport, including vintage cars, buses, and other vehicles from the past, taking time to read the information provided about the old cars and transport history, which encouraged discussion, shared interests, and learning.
After their tour, members travelled back into Glasgow city Centre and enjoyed lunch together in Buchanan Galleries before heading home as a group. The trip was an enjoyable and interesting experience for everyone, giving members the opportunity to work on outcomes, spend time together in the community, build confidence using public transport, and develop their planning and social skills.
