Glasgow Health and Wellbeing Activity

Govan and Springburn Members came to together to attend a recent session via Values Into Action Scotland and The Life I Want. The group travelled to the Calton Heritage and Learning Centre in Glasgow recently for a Meet and Greet with the new Learning Disability Nursing Team.

The Nurses informed attendees that they were gradually making themselves known around Glasgow and would be a great new resource going forward. They then gave the group an opportunity to get their weight and height taken, discussed medical issues and answered questions, plus provided Smoothy Bikes for members to try out, which proved to be a hit for Springburn’s Ronnie and Alison.

Lunch was provided and Govan member Malcolm Harris tried a big plate of fruit which is something he said he would usually avoid but advice from the Learning Disability Nursing Team around Diabetes health encouraged him to give it a go and he said he would try it again.
